PROJECTS HIGHLIGHTED
Every project here starts with a problem worth solving. Here’s how I solved them.

Projects Highlighted
Every project here tells a story: a challenge faced, a collaboration formed, and a solution designed. Whether building data dashboards for program assessment, transforming 120-page manuals into interactive courses, or pivoting in-person training to virtual delivery during a pandemic, these projects showcase adaptability, creativity, and a learner-centered approach.
The toolkit: PowerBI, Canvas LMS, Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise), Vyond, Doodly, Camtasia, Premiere Pro, Audacity, Adobe Creative Cloud, Genial.ly, Zoom, and more.
The real focus: Solving problems and creating meaningful learning experiences.

The Bottega: Exploration of AI Collaboration Assignments
A Virtual Instructor Led Guide
Shawna’s Brain | Claude’s Circuits | PowerPoint | Large Language Models | Generative AI

The Bottega started with a simple question: what if the problem with AI adoption isn’t the technology — it’s the story we’re telling about who holds the power in the room? Every design decision in this project flows from that question. I wanted to build something that didn’t just teach AI skills, but changed how experienced professionals see their own expertise in relation to emerging tools. This Renaissance workshop is the answer I landed on.
Key Features: Experiential Exploration | Learner Journal | Modeled Application | Collaborative Quest | Post Session Challenge & Badged Credential

Developmental Diagnostics: Level 1 – Theories
A Project in Articulate Storyline
Shawna’s Brain | Claude’s Circuits | Storyline | Midjourney | Speechma
An interactive learning experience that transforms passive theory memorization into active skill-building. Counseling students assume the role of trainee observers, identifying developmental theories in 12 authentic early childhood scenarios. The game provides immediate, theory-specific feedback and tracks performance across six major developmental frameworks. Built in Articulate Storyline 360 with custom AI-generated illustrations to create a cohesive, story-driven learning environment.

Leading Remote Teams
A Project in Articulate Rise
Shawna’s Brain | Claude’s Circuits | Rise | Storyline | Zoom | Premiere Pro | Vidnoz | Speechma

A peek into a project under development. In a quest to develop a work sample in Articulate Rise, I thought what better topic than remote leadership. I started working and leading my admin group remotely back in 2020. Although many concepts are not specific to remote work, some carry more impact in a remote environment. Follow my progress as I complete this build. Currently the Modules are templated and Modules 1 – 4 are nearly complete. Let me know what you think!

How I Met Your Generator
Ethical Collaboration With An LLM To Create A Professional Development Interactive Tool
Shawna’s Brain | Claude’s Circuits | Code

A human, an AI, and a generator walk into a portfolio… Sorry, this isn’t a joke setup—it’s the origin story of PAGE, the Practice Activity Generator Experience that’s making low-stakes learning activities ridiculously easy to create. Armed with Bloom’s Taxonomy, copious amounts of coffee, and Claude’s knack for turning Shawna’s ‘wouldn’t it be cool if…’ into ‘here’s how it works,’ Claude and I built an interactive artifact that helps professors generate engaging online activities for their asynchronous courses. Program Outcomes & Assessment
Aligning Course Content to Program Outcomes for Data-Driven Decision Making
Team’s Teams | Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint | Articulate | Canvas | Zoom | QuickBase

Understanding how learners think is the foundation of everything else. This video breaks down Bloom’s cognitive levels — not as a checklist, but as a practical framework for designing learning that actually moves students toward mastery.

Course Development Institute (CDI): Faculty Collaboration for Quality Online Learning
12-Week Collaborative Course Development for Online Excellence
MS Teams | Canvas LMS | Adobe Premiere Pro | Closed Captions | Citilabs | UDOIT | Quality Matters
CDI runs concurrent with the Winter, Summer, and Fall Semesters. During this time I partner with faculty to guide them through an intensive 12-week Course Development Institute where we transform traditional in person courses into Quality Matters-aligned online learning experiences. I provide structured guidance on course flow, best practices, lab options, engagement strategies, assessment design, and accessibility standards, to prioritize student success and retention. At this time this has resulted in 20+ Quality Matters aligned courses since 2023. This intensive course development work runs concurrent with Outcomes & Assessment program management, demonstrating my capacity to lead multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously. I am unable share course content work samples here due to faculty intellectual property rights.

STOP Supervisor Safety Training: Rapid Transition to Virtual Delivery
Leading Digital Transformation for Safety Training During COVID-19
Zoom | Wheel of Forced Participation | Kahoot |Articulate Storyline

Led rapid transition of 6-week Supervisor Safety Training (STOP) from classroom to Zoom delivery at the onset of COVID-19. Designed interactive virtual learning experience for facilities management supervisors unfamiliar with online learning technology. Created facilitator support materials and engagement strategies to ensure effective safety training delivery despite steep learning curve for both instructors and learners.

The Surplus Property Adventure
Applying Adult Learning Theory to Complex Policy Training
Assetworks Screencast Recording | Camtasia | Canvas LMS | Articulate Storyline

Nobody wants to read a 120-page property disposal manual. So we didn’t make them.
Working with the Surplus Property manager, I applied adult learning principles to transform dense policy and software workflows into interactive online modules — bite-sized, engaging, and actually useful. The capstone: a gamified assessment where learners earn credit toward Property Accounting’s Property Manager Certification. Complex procedures, zero procedural misery.
